St. John is the smallest and most verdant of the U.S. Virgin Islands – the lush Virgin Island National Park makes up 60% of the island. While the tiny island doesn’t offer a huge variety of restaurants, the eateries sprinkled throughout St. John’s many bays and inlets deliver fresh, delicious fare in picture-perfect settings. Use your complimentary dining credit at any of the participating restaurants below.
Café Concordia, Coral Bay
Café Concordia embodies the essence of laid-back island dining with fresh-as-it-gets seafood, local ingredients, and a beautiful outdoor location. Enjoy stunning views of Salt Pond Bay, Drunk Bay, and Ram Head as you listen to live music and sip on their excellent drink specials.
Island Blues Seaside Bar & Grill, Coral Bay
Head to Island Blues to dine on West Indies-style fare to the backdrop of beautiful Coral Bay. Its prime location on the water’s edge provides perfect sea breezes, and the friendly, welcoming staff makes you feel right at home. The conch fritters and crab cakes are must-tries.
Shipwreck Landing Restaurant, Coral Bay
Located off the beaten path on Coral Bay, Shipwreck Landing advertises its offerings simply and succinctly: “Good food, good view, good people.” Patrons rave about the blackened shrimp and mahi mahi, as well the homemade dessert – especially the banana cheesecake.
High Tide Bar & Seafood Grill, Cruz Bay
This relaxed beachside patio bar serves up Caribbean classics like conch, coconut shrimp, and calamari in an excellent location by the Cruz Bay dock. If you’re taking a ferry to St. Thomas, stop by High Tide for a cold drink and bite to eat before or after you board.
The Tap Room, Cruz Bay
The Tap Room, the flagship brewpub of St. John Brewers, is a must-visit for craft beer lovers. Their inventive local brews include Tropical Mango, Liquid Sunshine Ale, Island Hoppin’ IPA and Coffee Stout, among others. For the non-beer-drinkers, The Tap Rooms offers a full bar menu with sandwiches and pizza – and they make their own root beer, too. Stop in for lunch and a drink after shopping at Mongoose Junction Plaza.
The Restaurants at Caneel Bay Resort, Caneel Bay
This 170-acre property sits on the former site of a historic sugar plantation and is now protected as national parkland. Grab a burger, sandwich, or fresh sushi as you watch a sports game at the casual Beach Bar & Grill, dine buffet-style on the waterfront Beach Terrace, or enjoy an elegant dinner at the Turtle Bay Estate House or Equator Restaurant, both built on the remains of an old sugar mill.
